This Saturday, 18th July, was supposed to be gardening club at the Masonic Lodge, however due to a charity day being hosted at the coble with our support gardening club has been postponed till Saturday the 25th July.
Supporting Our Veterans Community
Welcome to the Newbiggin Veterans Association. We were formed in 2023 after a few years in the town without a group following the Covid pandemic. We are dedicated to supporting current serving military personnel and veterans of our HM Armed forces. Our organisation aims to provide a strong sense of community and a range of support services for our members.
We organise regular social events of differing kinds and hold regular commemoration services to ensure that we never forget those that served and to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
For those currently serving or veterans who are not members and want to come along and see what we are about we hold a breakfast morning on the first Sunday of each month at 10:00.

The Memorial Garden: Progress & Community
Working in collaboration with the Newbiggin Town Council, our long term project is to renovate and redesign the memorial garden. Part of this project is to add the missing names from the memorial.
A working group has been created with local stakeholders to start the planning process.

Gardening Club
Our gardening club is a safe space for veterans and supporters of the veterans to come and enjoy eachothers company. We have gardening for those with or without green fingers. We enjoy looking after the space we have overlooking Newbiggin bay. For those that cannot or do not enjoy gardening we enjoy each others company and are there to support each other. Teas and Coffees are available. Gardening is a great activity for wellbeing and mindfulness.
Veterans Socials
Most weeks there are socials in our local establishments where we can catch up, socialise and share comradery.
Veterans Breakfast
First Sunday of every month we have our breakfast meeting, bacon butties, tea or coffee always available, our business meeting follows where we plan our future events or projects, all are welcome to attend.
